Power Book III: Raising Kanan has announced two new cast members, including The Wire star Paul Ben-Victor.

The Power spin-off's fourth season is currently filming, and Deadline now reports that that actor – who famously played Spiros 'Vondas' Vondopoulos in the HBO drama – has joined alongside Lost in Space's Sibongile Mlambo.

Ben-Victor will play Jersey's new crime boss Phil Russo, who is known for getting respect, deference and preying on other men's fear, suffering no fools as he handles business with stoic confidence.

Mlambo will take on the role of record label executive Imani Okoye, who is described as confident, smart and business-savvy.

"We know that our fans can't get enough of Raising Kanan," said Starz's President of Original Programming, Kathryn Busby. "As the inevitable evolution of this young man into a killer plays out, we knew we had much more backstory to share in this ever-escalating family saga.

"As we continue to expand the storytelling within the Power universe, we're looking forward to how this story may intersect with other Power characters during this prequel era."

Raising Kanan debuted in 2021, and follows the younger years of 50 Cent's Power character Kanan Stark as he enters the world of drugs.

Meanwhile, last month it was confirmed that the Power universe will be getting a new show called Origins, which looks at the younger years of Ghost and Tommy.

"As we approach the 10-year anniversary of Power it is incredible to witness the enormous connection our fans have with the Power universe,” Busby said of the new show.

"We can't wait to see how Origins will further evolve this dynamic franchise while bringing fresh, gripping, and expansive storytelling to our audience."

Power Book III: Raising Kanan airs on Starz in the US. Seasons 1-2 are available via Prime Video in the UK.
