Woman, 70, Allegedly Hid Cocaine In Underwear

A 70-year-old woman was found with 4lb (nearly 2kg) of cocaine hidden in her girdle and underwear at JFK airport in New York, officials say.

Olive Fowler seemed nervous when she arrived from Guyana on 12 April, say investigators.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers led her to a private room at the airport and found the drugs after a search.

Officials estimate the cocaine had a street value of more than $73,000 (£48,800).

Fowler, a Guyanese citizen, is facing federal narcotics-smuggling charges.
