A WOMAN has died after her mobility scooter was struck by a car. 

We previously reported emergency services were called to Main Street, Baillieston, at around 2pm on Friday, June 28 following a report of a crash involving a white Ford Fiesta and a mobility scooter.

The 58-year-old driver of the mobility scooter was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment following the incident which happened between Church Street and Edinburgh Road.

(Image: Newsquest) Police have now confirmed the woman died on Sunday, June 30.

Her family has asked for privacy.

A 77-year-old man, who was driving the car, was also taken to hospital for minor injuries.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information about the crash to come forward as they work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Road Policing Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has died at what is a very difficult time for them.
