Woman fighting for life and two others injured in fairground ride incident at Fudstock Festival

A woman is in a critical condition and two others have been injured during a fairground ride incident at Fudstock Festival in Barrow.

Police were called to Cavendish Park in Barrow at 8.30pm on Saturday Evening by the North West ambulance service to reports that two females and one male had been injured.

Two of the people were reported to have been on a ride at the time that the incident occurred, Cumbria Police said.

The force added that police, ambulance, and the fire and air ambulance attended the scene.

One female is described as being in a critical condition, Cumbria police said.

The other two have injuries that are serious but not believed to be life threatening.

All three were taken to Furness General Hospital.

A cordon has been placed around the area whilst investigations are ongoing.

Meanwhile, the incident has been reported to the Health and Safety Executive.

According to reports, two victims were flung from the ride while a third was trapped underneath it.

It is unclear which attraction was involved in the incident but NWE news reported that there was a Waltzers ride and several inflatable attractions at the festival.
