Woman stabbed in Sheffield city centre attack as men reportedly flee in vehicle

A woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a reported stabbing in Sheffield city centre in the early hours of this morning.

South Yorkshire Police called to Rockingham Street at 6.11am on Saturday, June 29, 2024, following reports a woman had been stabbed. It is believed that a 38-year-old woman suffered stab wounds after she was approached by a group of men.

Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening officers have confirmed.

It is believed that the men fled from the scene in a vehicle. Officers are now appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: "We were called this morning (29 June) at 6:11am to report a woman being stabbed on Rockingham Street in Sheffield.

"It is alleged that a 38-year-old woman suffered stab wounds after being approached by a group of men. It is believed that the men fled from the scene in a vehicle.

"The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. A scene remains in place while officers carry out their enquiries.

"Anyone with information is asked to get in touch online, via live chat or by calling 101 quoting incident number 194 of 29 June 2024."
