Woman suffers 'life-changing' injuries as BMW and Honda crash in Devon

A young woman has been hospitalised with potentially life-changing injuries following a serious two-car crash in Devon last night, Monday, April 22. Two people were also trapped in a vehicle and had to be cut free from the wreckage by firefighters.

At 9.55pm, police were alerted to a collision involving two cars on the A386. The vehicles, a Honda and a BMW, had crashed on Tavistock Road, Yelverton.

The driver of the BMW, a woman in her 20s, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital. The passenger in the BMW and the driver of the Honda received treatment at the scene from paramedics.

Local roads were closed off as emergency services attended the incident. One eyewitness described it as a "bad crash on the road from Yelverton to Plessy roundabout over the moors". Another person reported: "A386 closed both way due to an rtc (road traffic collision".

The road was reopened around 1.30am today (Tuesday, April 23). Both the BMW and Honda have since been recovered from the scene.
