X Factor 2017: 'New Adele' Kayleigh Taylor once appeared on The Jeremy Kyle Show

Kayleigh Taylor wowed The X Factor viewers at the weekend when her first audition aired as the ITV talent show returned to our screens for its new series.

However, it has now been revealed that X Factor is not Kayleigh’s first venture into the TV world, with the 27-year-old Liverpudlian previously appearing on The Jeremy Kyle Show, accused of stealing a phone from her estranged father.

Airing in 2014, the singing hopeful featured in a segment called: “I found my long-lost father and I hope DNA proves he’s not my dad”, failing a lie detector test when denying the phone theft.

Speaking to The Sun, the mother-of-three explained: “I don’t pretend to be perfect. I’m human.

“I’ve made a number of mistakes in the past and I’m now trying to better my life.”

A friend added to the publication: “Kayleigh hasn’t had the easiest start in life.

“She has been involved in her fair share of scrapes over the years.

“Hopefully, her stint on X Factor is an opportunity to start afresh and turn over a new leaf.”

X Factor fans were stunned when tattooed Kayleigh gave an emotional performance of Evanescence’s ‘My Immortal’ during Saturday’s show, with it being reported that Simon Cowell told ITV producers that the hopeful was “the new Adele“.
