As a nation, it'd be fair to say that we're all pretty damn obsessed with the royal family – and read about them a lot (plus, hello! Look at the viewing figures for The Crown). So, it'd be fair to say many of us like to think we know them as well as we may know members of our own family. There's a litany of senior royals we're as keen to keep up with as the Kardashians. There's the head of the family, King Charles and wife Queen Camilla, then the heir Prince William, his wife Kate Middleton and their adorable family - plus the (somewhat sidelined) Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their son Archie and daughter, Lilibet. And of course, there's the late, great Queen Elizabeth II, who we still think fondly of.

But the royal family - and in particular, the line of succession - extends far beyond those famous faces who regularly make public appearances and headlines. Did you know there's a whole generation of Millennial and Gen Z royal family members out there that you've most likely never heard of? From a personal-trainer-turned-Royal-Marine, to a pottery maker to high fashion models, these names are a real mixed bag. And it's safe to say we're just as fascinated with them as we are with the senior members of 'The Firm'.

Naturally, we've done some super sleuthing (you're welcome), to provide you with all the intel you need about this party-loving, globe-trotting, high-fashioning bunch...

Samuel Chatto

Who is he? Sam Chatto is the eldest son of Lady Sarah Chatto and David Chatto, making the Queen his great aunt.

Where in the line of succession is he? 29th, just behind his mum.

What does he do? Just like his brother, 27-year-old Sam studied History of Art at Edinburgh University. He started there in 2014 and graduated in the summer of 2018. On Instagram, Sam refers to himself as an "artist and maker", and that he is - the young royal has a love of pottery and he makes and sells clay crafts from his studio in West Sussex.

Arthur Chatto

Who is he? Arthur Chatto, brother of Sam, is the youngest son of Lady Sarah Chatto and David Chatto. 23-year-old Arthur is the grandson of the Queen's sister, Princess Margaret. Lady Sarah Chatto is her only daughter.

Where in the line of succession is he? A solid 30th.

What does he do? Art studied at Edinburgh University, reading (funnily enough) History of Art. By the looks of Instagram, he's pretty outdoorsy, enjoying mountain climbing and diving and is the proud owner of two World Records - the youngest team and person (21) to row round Great Britain. He also seems to dabble in a bit of the old #sponcon, with a link to technical mountain clothing brand Jöttnar previously appearing in his bio, and kept busy with posting home workouts during the pandemic (he's also a PT, don't you know!). He joined the armed forces back in 2021.

Most recently, he caught a fair amount of attention when he appeared at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022 his Royal Marines uniform.

Charles Armstrong-Jones, Viscount Linley

Who is he? Charles Armstrong-Jones, who's also known by his courtesy title Viscount Linley, is a descendant of the Queen's sister, Princess Margaret. He and sister Margarita are the children of Margaret's only son, David Armstrong-Jones, 2nd Earl of Snowdon.

Where in the line of succession is he? 26th.

What does he do? Charles, who is in his early twenties, keeps his Instagram account private, but according to his LinkedIn profile, the royal studied Product Design Engineering at Loughborough University. The former Eton student made a public appearance in 2019 with his great aunt, Queen Elizabeth, at a church service in Balmoral, Scotland.

Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones

Who is she? The younger sister of Charles, 21-year-old Margarita is the only granddaughter of Princess Margaret, the Queen's sister. Margarita is daughter of, furniture maker David Armstrong-Jones, 2nd Earl of Snowdon and Serena Armstrong-Jones, Countess of Snowdon.

Where in the line of succession is she? 27th. Margarita and her brother come just after Zara Tindall's children, Mia, Lena and Lucas.

What does she do? Margarita previously studied Oxford Brookes University, according to her LinkedIn page, and on the bio of her (private) Instagram account, she has linked out to a jewellery page, Matita Jewellery, which is described as "hand made silver jewellery". It seems the creative genes have been passed down from her dad. Plus, her late grandfather, photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones, also appears to be having an influence as Lady Margarita has a separate Instagram account dedicated to her own photos.

Edward Windsor, Lord Downpatrick

Who is he? Edward Windsor, or Eddy Downpatrick as he's known professionally, is a royal family member stemming from Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent. Prince Edward (Eddy's grandfather) is the son of Queen Elizabeth's uncle, Prince George, making him the Queen's cousin. Prince Edward's eldest son, George Windsor, is Eddy's dad. Make sense? Oh, also, Eddy is the godson of Princess Diana.

Where in the line of succession is he? He's not. He was excluded for becoming a Roman Catholic.

What does he do? A former financial analyst, 35-year-old Eddy is now a fashion designer, having founded his own label, FIDIR. The menswear brand is inspired by the landscape of the Scottish Highlands and Islands, which Eddy loves. "Nowhere else in the world makes me quite so misty eyed. Rarefied light… brooding gloom… there’s a lot of the sensorial to be taken from that," he once said in an interview.

Lady Marina Windsor

Who is she? Lady Marina Windsor is the 29-year-old sister of Eddy Downpatrick and Lady Amelia Windsor.

Where in the line of succession is she? Just like her brother, Eddy, Marina was removed from the line of succession for being Catholic. She was confirmed in the Catholic church (following her mother's faith) in 2008.

What does she do? The former Cambridge University student keeps a low profile in comparison to her siblings, although she's been spotted on some very envy-inducing holidays post-pandemic. While she once modelled in Tatler (back in 2010), it's been reported that she didn't want to pursue fashion as a career, instead expressing interest in foreign diplomacy. She now works the Blue Marine Foundation

Lady Amelia Windsor

Who is she? 28-year-old Lady Amelia Windsor is another granddaughter of Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent, who's the Queen's first cousin. She is the youngest of three, and a daughter of George Windsor, Earl of St Andrews, and Sylvana Tomaselli, a Canadian academic and historian.

Where in the line of succession is she? 43rd - and she's the only one of her siblings to be in line to the throne.

What does she do? Lady Amelia Windsor is perhaps the most high profile of this young royal bunch. The model has a casual 102k followers on Instagram, and has walked in fashion shows for the likes of Dolce & Gabbana. The University of Edinburgh graduate is fluent in Italian (È moda, cercala) and has also tried her hand at fashion design with a footwear and accessories collaboration with Penelope Chilvers and Warchild.

Colombus Taylor

Who is he? Colombus' royal heritage goes a little something like this: his mum (Lady Helen Taylor) is the granddaughter of Prince George, Duke of Kent, who was Queen Elizabeth's uncle. Got that? He's basically one of the Queen's first cousin's grandsons. I think.

Where in the line of succession is he? At 48th in line, it's pretty safe to say Colombus will never be King.

What does he do? We can't really lie, we're not really sure. With his Instagram on private, it's hard to see what he's up to. But 29-year-old Columbus is evidently into art like the rest of his family, occasionally attending fancy events like the Many Hopes Spring Ball and the Yorkville Ball at The Union Club (both in New York).

Cassius Taylor

Who is he? Brother of Colombus, 26-year-old Cassius Taylor has the same, elaborate royal family tree. Cassius Taylor is the son of artists Timothy Taylor and Lady Helen Taylor, whose father is the Queen's cousin, Prince Edward, Duke of Kent.

Where in the line of succession is he? 49th.

What does he do? Following in his parents' footsteps, Cassius is into the arts. Having studied Arts Management (specialising in music and art business), at Goldsmiths, University of London, Cassius is pursuing a career in the music industry, running Tell Tales DJ events. And by the looks of his Instagram account, Cassius is friends with people in high places, e.g. Rafferty Law (Jude Law's son). He's cool, is basically all you need to know.

Zenouska Mowatt

Who is she? Zenouska is the daughter of Marina Ogilvy, who is the daughter of Princess Alexandra, another of the Queen's first cousins.

Where in the line of succession is she? Bottom of the pile (but only in number), Zenouska is 63rd in line to the throne.

What does she do? Now 33, the royal relative lives in London and is head of marketing at Halcyon Days, a luxury retailer selling home wear, jewellery and accessories. By the looks of her Instagram account, Zenouska has a love of fashion, regularly showing off outfits by designers like Mary Katrantzou, Alessandra Rich, and a LOT of Carolina Herrera. We're especially envious of the puff sleeve dress she recently work to Ascot.
