Yahoo News Young Sheldon season 3: Everything you need to know
With The Big Bang Theory's spin-off Young Sheldon's astonishing success (with 17 million watching the pilot) leading to a full season order after the first episode, it wasn't particularly surprising when season two was confirmed in January of this year.
With a loyal fanbase maintaining an average of 15 million viewers an episode in the US throughout season one, we'd expect the success to continue during season two, with news of a season three coming in the next few months.
But because we're as nerdy as Sheldon, we don't want to wait for a season three confirmation before we start speculating about it.
Fan theories are as fun to think up for sitcoms as they are for the superhero shows Sheldon loves so much as an (almost) grown-up, so here's our best guesses about what to expect.

Young Sheldon season 3 release date: When's it on?
In the States, both seasons of Young Sheldon premiered in September. Season one didn't arrive on E4 until February the following year, but season two was a bit more timely - broadcasting in November.
We'd expect the same pattern for season three – US in September, UK in November. And we imagine it'll be on E4 again.
If it ain't Bazinga-ed, don't fix it.
Young Sheldon season 3 cast: Who'll be in it?
All of the Coopers are expected to return, including Iain Armitage as Sheldon, Zoe Perry as Sheldon's mum Mary, Lance Barber as Sheldon's dad George, Montana Jordan as Sheldon's brother George Jr, Raegan Revord as Sheldon's twin sister Missy and Annie Potts as Sheldon's grandmother Meemaw.
We'll also be very surprised if Jim Parsons doesn't come back to narrate the show as the future Sheldon - older than he appears on The Big Bang Theory, with the capacity to reveal plenty of surprises, such as the season one revelation that he's the father of multiple children now.
Young Sheldon season 3 plot: What will it be about?
Sheldon is nine years old in season one, ten in season two, so we'd predict he'll be eleven in season three. We're clever like that.
That means we're still a few seasons away from losing George Sr (Sheldon's dad, who died when Sheldon was 14), but Lance Barber is already preparing for it.
"Everybody knows George Sr dies when Sheldon is 14 so there's definitely a clock," the actor said. "If we're lucky enough to go that many seasons to the point where George dies, I mean, see ya, I'll be rich!
"I'll be fine, I'll be happy to do theatre or something else. I would love to build the story to that point, that would be a lot of fun to do but of course we are going into it knowing that and it makes the character richer for me I think, knowing that we have something to build toward.
"It would be a fun thing to pursue."
So, you can possibly expect season three to feel slightly more poignant as we start to build towards the loss of such a significant character.
We already know that the current season of The Big Bang Theory will contain a Young Sheldon crossover, but could it work in reverse? Obviously Young Sheldon is set 30 years before Big Bang, which makes things slightly complicated, but not impossible.
The season twelve Big Bang Theory crossover is said to involve a VHS tape Sheldon recorded during the Young Sheldon era - could we see Sheldon actually making that tape on his own spin-off show?
If not, expect some sort of connection to the main series - potentially in the form of a young version of a character we know and love. Did Sheldon and Penny cross paths earlier than previously thought?
Whatever happens, expect references.
Young Sheldon season 3 trailer: When can we expect it?
Because of the fanbase, the trailer reveal has become a bit of a big deal, so we'd expect season three's to land during Comic-Con 2019 in San Diego - the show was certainly a topic of conversation at this year's event, with the reveal that Big Bang Theory's season twelve will feature a Young Sheldon crossover first appearing during the Big Bang panel.
