YouTuber Carrie Fletcher Cuts Off Seventeen Inches Of Hair For Charity

To be honest, Carrie Fletcher is arguably one of the most inspirational YouTubers out there, and the star has once again proven how brilliant she is by cutting all of her hair off for charity.

Seriously, this is just incredible.

Carrie is basically known for her beautiful, long, blonde, curly hair but she decided that after her run as Eponine in the West End’s Les Miserables she was going to cut it all off and donate it to The Little Princess Trust to be made into wigs for children who have lost their hair due to illness.

She decided to also raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity in the process, setting up a JustGiving page and raising over £13,000 from her incredibly generous fans.

On her fundraising page Carrie explained that she was inspired by author John Green and his book ‘The Fault In Our Stars’, writing: “I’d like to thank John Green for letting me know this was something I could do via his VlogBrothers video.

"His book 'The Fault in our Stars’ is a favourite of mine and the actress, Shailene Woodley, playing Hazel in the film adaptation, cut her hair for the role and donated it to charity which sparked off the campaign #HairForHazel.

"As silly as it sounds, my hair means a lot to me. I’ve never had it cut short and it’s always been my insurance that I’ll never get lost in big crowds as my friends always play ‘Spot The Hair’ and find me almost instantly.

"But as soon as I found out that anyone could donate hair to chairty, my mind was made up. So, please get donating! This is a huge, huge deal for me and I want to raise the most I possibly can!”

And just two days after giving her last ever performance in Les Mis, Carrie took to her Twitter page to reveal that she had taken the plunge and had a huge seventeen inches cut from her hair, ready to be sent off to the trust for wig-making.

Sharing a photo of her gorgeous new do, Carrie wrote: “At 2:30pm today I chopped off 17 inches of my hair for The Little Princess Trust and so far I’ve raised almost 13K for GOSHCC! Please keep sharing and donating!”

She then shared another pic, revealing that she couldn’t be happier with her new look: “Hair had dried and is big and curly now and I’m ecstatic!”

We think you look as wonderful as always, Carrie - and we bet that the children the Little Princess Trust help could not be more grateful for your generous donation.
