China Is Building A New Amusement Park Dedicated To British Teddy Bears
It’s almost ready, teddy go for a brand new £5 million amusement park dedicated to cuddly toys in China.
The new attraction, which will reportedly focus on British-themed teddy bears, will be opened south of Beijing next year.
Set across 1,000 acres, the park is being dubbed as a “low carbon teddy bear paradise.”
And bosses are hoping that it will attract some 250,000 visitors each and every year.
The UK-based Great British Teddy Bear Company (GBTB) and Chinese firm Tenio Architectural Design are behind the joint venture.
A teddy bear-themed museum will be at its centre.
Visitors will be able to see Shakespeare plays interpreted by giant teddies, according to the BBC.
A “Beefeater bear” food court will also serve British food such as fish and chips.
“The park will allow families of all generations to interact, create memories and have a British experience”, said GBTB founder Paul Jessup.
It will be located inside a new environmentally-friendly town, according to the South China Morning Post.
Parts of the park will be opened in May 2016. The museum is expected to open several months later.
