Fantastic Four Reboot Line-Up Announced

Jamie Bell, Kate Mara, Miles Teller and Michael B Jordan look set to star in the new Fantastic Four reboot.

Fox is believed to be in the final stages of securing the cast for the film about the Marvel superheroes.

The update of the franchise, about four individuals who gain superpowers after exposure to cosmic rays, will show the characters as young men and women.

Variety said House Of Cards star Mara will play Sue Storm, or The Invisible Woman, who was portrayed by Jessica Alba in the first two films.

Teller will step into the role of Reed Richards, or Mr Fantastic, following in the footsteps of Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd who was also in the 2005 and 2007 versions.

Jordan has been expected to take on Johnny Storm or The Human Torch for some time and Bell is likely to play Ben Grimm, or Thing.

The Ultimate Fantastic Four comics followed the first superhero team created by Marvel in the 1960s.

The characters are well known for their encounters with villains such as Dr Doom and the Silver Surfer.

The casting of the villains for the new film, to be directed by Chronicle's Josh Trank, has not been announced yet.

The film is due for release in the summer of 2015.
