New data has revealed the most expensive streets in the country to buy property on and the top five are all in London. The data shows that flats on the priciest streets cost as much as four houses in a posh village that Premier League footballers love.

According to data found by Rightmove, the most expensive street to buy a home in the UK currently is Buckingham Gate in Westminster which is practically next door to Buckingham Palace. To get a property on this street you are looking to shell out an average of £9,633,333.

Next is Vicarage Gate in Holland Park which has an average asking price of £6,332,000, followed by Park Road in St John's Wood which has an average asking price of £5,814,285.

St John's Wood Road in Maida Vale is fourth at £5,389,444, and Cadogan Square in Knightsbridge is fifth at £4,834,500. We can all agree that those amounts are eye-watering prices, even compared to Surrey's Cobham which is renowned for being a hotspot for footballers due to its proximity to Chelsea FC's training ground.

Ex-Chelsea stars Frank Lampard, John Terry and Petr Cech have bought houses there, and Eden Hazard did before his move to Real Madrid in 2019. Danny Murphy, Steve Sidwell, Arjen Robben, Robert Huth and Nigel Reo-Coker have all lived there at one point too.

What may be a surprise is that they can get a house out there for an average price of £1,375,189 according to Rightmove. Whilst still a hefty amount of money it is over eight million pounds cheaper than Buckingham Gate. What the Rightmove data does show though is that the next most expensive street in the country, that is outside of London, is in Weybridge, Surrey.

On Old Avenue, the average asking price is £2,633,333 which is still more expensive than Cobham but shows how expensive Surrey still is in some parts.
