Kate Middleton 'heartbroken' as she 'gives in' to Prince William's plans for Prince George

Kate Middleton is reportedly 'heartbroken' as she reluctantly accepts Prince William's decision for their eldest son, Prince George, to attend a prestigious boarding school.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were seen last June at Eton College, sparking speculation about Prince George's schooling, following in the footsteps of his father and uncle, Prince Harry. A source last year indicated that the Duchess was initially hesitant about the prospect of her son going off to boarding school but has since come to terms with what she sees as an unavoidable aspect of his Royal upbringing.

The insider revealed: "Kate long disagreed with her husband about sending him away, even though it's tradition. Kate thinks sending him to such a stuffy, upper-crust institution goes against all of their efforts to modernise the monarchy.", reports Aberdeen Live.

"Plus, she'll miss George desperately. She and William argued about it for years, but he has finally won."

Prince William himself attended the renowned school in Berkshire starting in 1995, where he would spend term time, often visiting his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, at Windsor Castle on weekends. An insider revealed that the Duchess, Kate Middleton, has allegedly "finally gave in" to enrolling Prince George at the prestigious £15,432-a-term school, acknowledging her son's wish to follow in his father's footsteps.

Speaking with In Touch Weekly, the source went on to reveal: "But she's still heartbroken. She was horribly bullied at her first boarding school, and can't bear the thought of George suffering through that."

Even though Kate may soon miss her eldest son's daily company, there are a few more years left to savour his presence before he heads off to Eton College, as pupils typically start there at 13.

To secure a place at Eton, prospective students must undertake a 150-minute verbal and mental reasoning test, where generally, a score of 125 or above is deemed competitive.

After moving to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor in 2022, the Royal pair transferred all their children to the local Lambrook School.

Stressing its convenience, the same insider noted George could visit his family every weekend, emulating Prince William's routine with his grandparents when he was an Eton student, as it's merely a nine-minute drive from the cherished family cottage.

However, like any caring mother, it's reported Kate is nervously anticipating missing her young son greatly.

An inside source concluded by saying, "But it still seems as if her family is being torn apart. There's also the worry that William will insist the other two kids be shipped off next. Kate knows this is all part of her 'royal duty'."
