:: Julian Assange's wife thanks supporters

outside of London's Belmarsh prison

"It's Wednesday, the 19th of June, and it's exactly 12 years today since Julian went into the embassy of Ecuador, which granted him political asylum, protection from persecution, from torture, from a life imprisonment of imprisonment. And 12 years on, I'm visiting Julian in a high security prison. But this, this period of our lives, I'm confident now, has come to an end. And I think that by this time next week, Julian will be free."

"Throughout the years of Julian's imprisonment and persecution, an incredible movement has been formed. A movement of people from all walks of life, from around the world who support not just Julian, and not just us and our family, but what Julian stands for: Truth and justice. We still need your help. What starts now with Julian's freedom is a new chapter."

Speaking outside Belmarsh prison in the UK where Assange was released on Monday (June 24), Stella and WikiLeaks editor-in-chief Kristinn Hrafnsson thanked all those who supported Julian Assange and his cause.

Reuters was able to confirm the location of the statements were filmed outside of Belmarsh Prison, from matching the building exterior, road layout, and security fence around the street to file images. Reuters was not able to confirm when the footage was filmed.

Assange was indicted during former President Donald Trump's administration over WikiLeaks' mass release of secret U.S. documents, which were leaked by Chelsea Manning, a former U.S. military intelligence analyst who was also prosecuted under the Espionage Act.

The 52-year-old has agreed to plead guilty and is due to be sentenced at a hearing on the island of Saipan at 9 a.m. local time on Wednesday (June 26–2300 GMT June 25). He is expected to face no new prison time, and get credit for the five years already served in a UK prison.

He will return to Australia after the hearing, according to a Wikileaks statement.
