AN assault-accused duo said to have carried out attacks on two women at their home in Port Glasgow have had a trial date scheduled for later this year.

Patrick and Christina Reid, aged 36 and 37, are charged with grabbing an alleged female victim by the hair, punching her on the head and pulling her by the hair.

Prosecutors claim that the accused pair also pulled and tightened a necklace around the woman's neck, while court papers add that both were subject to bail conditions at the time of the incident on March 21.

Patrick Reid is said to have assaulted a different woman by kicking her on the body at the property on Woodhall Terrace.

It is further alleged that Patrick Reid behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and uttering offensive remarks.

Both accused, who had not guilty pleas lodged by solicitors in their absence, are set to stand trial at Greenock Sheriff Court in October.
