Aston Villa season ticket holders can still obtain physical season cards for fee

Aston Villa won't be sending out season cards to season ticket holders who buy or renew their seats ahead of the upcoming 2024-25 season - but those who do purchase are still able to receive a card if desired for a fee.

Villa announced upon the confirmation of their season ticket pricing for the new campaign that those who bought seats at Villa Park would be sent digital season passes, which could be stored in the digital wallet of a smart phone as an NFC pass. Clearly, though, there'll be issues for some groups within the fanbase.

Not every supporter, for example, will be in possession of a smart phone which can carry a digital pass. Alternatively, it may be in relation to a medical condition, as the club states in its FAQs when releasing the new season's ticketing details.

Offering an answer to the question 'how are season tickets being fulfilled this year?', Villa stated: "All season tickets this season will be digital and supporters can add their digital season ticket to an Apple or Google wallet as an NFC pass.

"Season Ticket Holders who wish for a physical card instead will need to fill out a form on the website stating the reason for the need for a season ticket. Applicable reasons why would be if someone has a medical condition, or a supporter doesn’t have a smartphone. This card would then be sent out free of charge. Any future reprint would entail a charge as per previous seasons."

Villa supporters who wish to apply for a physical card must fill out an online application form, in which you must produce your Fan ID, your full name, contact details and also pen an explanation as to why you're requesting a physical version - then, there is a box to tick which confirms you acknowledge the £20 fee it'll cost, a transaction which can be completed with a member of club staff over the phone.
