Sunday looks set to promise bright and sunny spells in the north west as the bank holiday weekend continues.

Today (May 5), it will turn drier in the afternoon with some bright or sunny spells in the south, spreading northwards. The Met Office says it will then be feeling warmer, particularly in the sunshine and light winds, with a maximum temperature 16 °C.

A mostly dry night will follow with light winds and clear spells. The odd shower is possible in the north with patchy mist or fog in the south, with a minimum temperature 9 °C.

Monday will see mostly dry with sunny spells on with just the odd shower possible in the afternoon, according to the Met Office. The weather will be feeling warm in the sunshine and light winds, and a maximum temperature 17 °C.

The outlook for Tuesday to Thursday shows high pressure building throughout the period bringing settled conditions. It will be mostly dry with sunny spells and the odd shower and light winds. The temperature will be feeling warm by day and relatively mild overnight.
