BBC Hairy Bikers fans say 'what a shame' and beg Si King to 'take care'

BBC Hairy Bikers star Si King has been supported over a "great night" with Fortnums in the wake of co-star Dave Myers' death. ITV chef and BBC chef Si lost best pal Dave back in February following a brave and lengthy cancer battle.

Si took to Instagram this week and said: "Thank you all!" In reply, a fan said: "Well deserved just a shame dave here too enjoy it si". A second typed: "So well deserved ....Dave was with you ...in spirit. Take care, lots of love." A third wrote: "The Hairy Bikers will never be forgotten."

"Ahh , you deserve a good knees up , Dave is always with you Si... take care xxx" another said. "Well deserved Si," another wrote "Well deserved - just a shame Dave’s not here to enjoy it," another wrote alongside a tearful emoji.

"It's well deserved, a show of what the Hairy Bikers mean to so many," another said. "Very well deserved Si ....You and Dave...dream team," another posted. And another wrote: "Well deserved I'm sure Daves watching over and his proud take care."

"It was lovely to see Dave and yourself win. Look after yourself Si xx," said another. Fortnum replied saying: "Such a special evening. Safe travels." There was also a special prize for TV presenter and restaurateur Rick Stein recognising his 50-year career and Personalities of the Year went to The Hairy Bikers, a bittersweet moment since Dave's death earlier this year.

Si said: "Can’t thank everyone enough for voting for us - we only went and won again! But this one really is very special." The chef previously dedicated the award nomination to his friend and fellow Hairy Biker Dave, who passed away earlier this year.

Dave's wife, Liliana, commented: "I'm so grateful for your votes - you made this possible."
