Early evening TV staple The One Show is notably absent from this week's BBC schedules due to significant changes in programming. With Euro 2024 and Wimbledon 2024 commencing on Monday, July 1, several popular shows have been sidelined to accommodate prime-time coverage of live football and tennis matches.

Regular hosts Alex Jones, Jermaine Jenas and Roman Kemp will be missing from our screens as The One Show has been dropped entirely for this week.

Although it's common for the show to be moved from its usual 7pm slot on BBC1 to BBC2 to make room for major sporting events or political debates, especially with the upcoming general election, this time around The One Show has been completely removed.

During last Friday's episode, Alex announced that the show would be taking a break and confirmed its return on Monday, July 8. This announcement came just days after The One Show was abruptly halted live on air and guest Stacey Dooley was quickly escorted off midway through her chat with Alex and Roman.

However, The One Show isn't the only programme disappearing from our screens. Fans of daytime favourites such as BBC1's Bargain Hunt and Escape To The Country will also miss their regular viewing due to the extensive coverage of the major sports tournaments and Thursday's general election.

Meanwhile, EastEnders is also dealing with scheduling changes this week, as it will be broadcast at varying times on BBC2 instead of its regular slot on BBC1, reports the Mirror.
