A crime and trouble-hit community in Bedworth is the focus of a police operation to 'make life better' for locals. Those who live in the Croft Pool area of town are set to see a lot more police officers around.

This forms part of a new sting, code-named 'Project Stronghold', which is being championed by the local Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) but also includes the council, housing, fire services and ambulance services. Its aim, according to Warwickshire Police, is to 'tackle crime, antisocial behaviour, and any other issues that have been raised to us by the community.'

In a bid to find out the issues impacting peoples' lives the most, officers have been out knocking doors and hosting community events. But Chief Inspector Kris Shore has urged more locals to get involved.

“It’s our commitment as your local police force to make you feel safer in your own community," CI Shore said. "For Project Stronghold, we want to take the people of Croft Pool on the journey with us and our partners to make where they live the best place it can be.

“Our teams have heard about some issues from residents already. We know that there’s an issue with cars left on the side of the road blocking the pavement, we know there’s an issue with overgrown hedges, we know there’s an issue with antisocial behaviour in the area.

“We appreciate all the help you’ve provided us so far, and we’d like that to continue. If something is bothering you, tell us, and we’ll make it a part of our Croft Pool action plan.”

Those who live in Croft Pool resident and want to talk to us about concerns in the area should contact BW.SNT@warwickshire.police.uk. Details can also be passed on anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
