Crews raced to Clydeside in the city centre after receiving reports of a body in the water near George V Bridge at 9.45am.

Police, ambulance and fire crews have been pictured in attendance as a helicopter hovers above.

A large cordon along the river is also in place.

An eye witness told our sister title, Glasgow Live: "It's taped off from the walkway to the road bridge.

"It looks like a very serious incident. It's probably the biggest presence I've seen."

Images from the scene show the area taped off by police with dive units in attendance.
