Where and when does the Birmingham Pride Parade take place?

The highlight of the event has to be the Pride Parade. Taking place on Saturday May 25, people are being asked to gather in Centenary Square from 11am, ahead of the start of the march at noon.

There will be music, floats and dancing through the city streets as the parade winds its way down to the LGBTQ+ village, where people then make their way to the main festival activities. Find out more via the Birmingham Pride website.

A spokesman said: "Our Pride Parade is a march for equality and justice, after all there is no pride without protest. Our protest is relevant until every injustice to LGBTQ+ people around the world is brought to an end and universal equality is achieved. Our vibrant parade is also a celebration of LGBTQ+ life, demonstrating our contribution to our community and our city."

What is the route of the Birmingham Pride Parade?

As you can see on the map above, the route starts in Centenary Square and continues through to Victoria Square, past the Town Hall, making its way down the length of New Street before turning left onto High Street and going down Carrs Lane, around the back of Primark and over towards Moor Street Station.

People will then march down St Martin’s Queensway, passing Bullring and Selfridges, along Smallbrook Queensway before turning left into Hurst Street and onto the LGBTQ+ village.
