Rachel Johnson strips off on Sky News: Brexit remain campaigner 'inspired by' Dr Victoria Bateman 'to get her voice heard'

Brexit took an inexplicable turn on Thursday when Remain campaigner Rachel Johnson stripped off on Sky News.

Ms Johnson, appearing on The Pledge debate show, said she was inspired by "The Naked Brexit Protester" Dr Victoria Bateman as she removed her blouse.

Since Friday last week, Dr Bateman, an anti-Brexit Cambridge University professor, has been appearing naked on TV and radio shows to make the point that “Brexit leaves Britain naked”.

She has also challenged leading Brexiteer Jacob Rees-Mogg to a naked debate.

Not to be outdone, Ms Johnson, sister of Brexit-backing Boris, said on the pre-recorded show: “As I know, it can be hard to get your voice heard when talking about Brexit nowadays. It feels like we have hit saturation point.

“Enter pro-EU campaigner Victoria Bateman, who’s come up with a striking way this week to get herself noticed: appearing across the media completely starkers to make various points about Brexit leaving Britain naked.

“In tribute to Dr Bateman,” Ms Johnson said while unbuttoning her blouse, “I have decided to follow suit…”

Removing her top completely, she continued: “…every time we talk about Brexit, just to make sure I get noticed around this table.”

She went on to say: “Alright then, I’ll get dressed, I’ll put them away.”

The show commenced with all panellists fully clothed.
