Top of the plops: Britain’s best (and worst) public toilets have been named
For many of us, public toilets are something we visit reluctantly at best, with a third of Britons willing to pay for a drink in a cafe just to avoid them.
But where are the worst (and best) public toilets in Britain?
Well, the worst are in Lisburn in Northern Ireland, followed closely by Southampton and Portsmouth, according to a survey of toilet users by Soap Supplier.
An interactive graphic can be seen here.
Ranked out of 10, Lisburn scored 2.1, with Southampton on 2.5 and Portsmouth on 2.7.
Users said they dished out low ratings for bad smells, no toilet roll, no mirrors, no soap, toilets that don’t flush and broken hand dryers.
The best were in Worcester, with a sparkling rating of 6.7 out of 10.
Edinburgh came in second with a hygiene score of 5.6 out of 10, and Wolverhampton was third with a score of 4.8 out of 10.
