Britten Pears Arts announces the return of summer event

A major summer event, the acclaimed Summer at Snape, has been announced to return with a programme packed with more than 50 events.

The month-long celebration, hosted by Britten Pears Arts, will be happening from July 26 till August 31.

Showcasing a broad range of music, the event will include everything from classical concerts by the London Symphony Orchestra to new music by artist Sona Jobarteh and the alternative pop electronica of Caswell.

Families will enjoy concerts, carnival excitement, talent contests, and more.

Attendees are encouraged to take part in fun activities such as singing Disney songs, West African drumming with the Wooden Roots Experience, and music and mindfulness wellbeing workshops.

The event will also offer a serene boat trip along the River Alde, live jazz brunches, art exhibitions, a summer shopping day, as well as heritage visits to The Red House.

To make the summer experience wholesome, Snape Maltings, where the event is held, has a range of independent shops and galleries supporting the charitable activities of Britten Pears Arts.

Event highlights include performances by renowned orchestras such as Sinfonia of London, the London Symphony Orchestra, Southbank Sinfonia and the Irish Baroque Orchestra, and solo acts by acclaimed musicians like violinist Alina Ibragimova and pianist Cédric Tiberghien.

Moreover, a highly anticipated storytelling session with classicist Mary Beard and a range of pop and popular classics will be part of the entertainment.

The chief executive of Britten Pears Arts, Sir Roger Wright, expressed the aim to welcome both regular and first-time visitors to the two venues, hoping that the wide variety of musical styles and activities will allow music and the arts to transform and unite communities.
