A BURST water main is causing minor flooding down a long stretch of road in a residential area on the Isle of Wight.

Southern Water has been called out to a major water burst on Gunville Road, from about 8pm this evening (Sunday).

Large volumes of water have spread between Spring Walk and Gunville West — a distance of about 400m — flowing down towards the pinch point outside Gunville Methodist Church, an eyewitness said.

No properties appear to have been affected.
