California's Nelson Fire Nearly Fully Contained After Threatening Homes

The Nelson Fire, burning near Vacaville in California’s Solano County, was 70-percent contained as of Saturday, August 11, after being at just 10-percent containment after it was first reported the day before, Cal Fire said.

Officials said the grass fire was at 1,000 acres, had destroyed one structure and was threatening 10 on Saturday morning. However, fire crews had reportedly stopped it spreading towards homes in Vacaville and Fairfield.
