Former I’m A Celeb campmate and motorcycle champ Carl Fogarty has blasted Ant McPartlin for his drink driving and thinks he should ‘man up’.

The sportsman, 52, shared his frank thoughts on the shamed TV presenter after he was convicted of a drink driving offence that caused a three-car smash while he was twice the legal limit.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Fogarty shared his unfiltered thoughts on the struggling Britain’s Got Talent host and how he should ‘take responsibility’ for his actions.

‘He’s got everybody running about after him going, “Oh it’s a shame for him”,’ the motorcyclist said.

‘Hang on a minute – grow up, sort yourself out and take responsibility. Don’t go running off to rehab every five minutes when something goes wrong.

Speaking about the incident that saw Ant, 42, crash his Mini while intoxicated, he said: ‘He got in a car p****d – don’t do that, it’s not right.’

Fogarty then suggested that Ant didn’t need to go to rehab at all and that someone should just ‘tell him straight’ what he did was wrong. He then went on to suggest he stop running from his problems and ‘man up’.

‘You don’t need to go to rehab to be told to sort that out, you know that’s wrong and you shouldn’t be doing that. And people around him need to be firm with him.’

The Saturday Night Takeaway star pleaded guilty to his drink driving charge earlier this week, and was fined £86,000 and banned from taking to the road for 20 months.

Afterwards, he addressed reporters outside court, saying was ‘truly sorry for what happened’. He also stated that he felt ‘ashamed and mortified’ for what his action.

As a result, co-host Declan Donnelly, 42, has been presenting both Saturday Night Takeaway and Britain’s Got Talent without his long-time on-screen friend, after Ant rightly stepped back from all television duties to seek help via a second stint in rehab.
