Stephen Mulhern threatened to 'walk off' the set of Celebrity Catchphrase on Saturday night, as he ranted at one of the famous contestants taking part in the show.,

Popular presenter Stephen was at the helm of the ITV show as it aired after a thrilling Grand National and right before the Saturday Night Takeaway finale, with him joined by Lorraine showbiz expert Rhia Hebden, Men Behaving Badly legend Neil Morrissey and Strictly Come Dancing pro Dianna Buswell.

And tensions started to run high when the celebs struggled to get to grips with one of the big money Catchphrases and, as Rhia buzzed in after a number of failed attempts, Stephen called a brief halt to proceedings as he told her: "Before you say, if you do not get this right, I am walking off this set, into the Countdown set that is next door. I'm going to turn right into the Coronation Street set that's just behind it, then I'm going to jump on a bus, go through Wetherfield then go home."

With the pressure on Rhia to get the answer right she did just that, much to her own relief and Stephen was quick to applaud her. Stephen's Catchphrase threat came a week after he 'pulled out' of Saturday Night Takeaway at the last minute, having called ITV bosses hours before cameras were due to start rolling, to inform them he wasn't 'up to' working.

He was all set to appear on this weekend's Takeaway finale, ahead of his own show, In For A Penny, returning for a new series next week.
