Celebrity Jeopardy! season 2: next episode, contestants, host and everything we know about the game show
This show was a hit with fans and is now back on ABC. What is Celebrity Jeopardy! season 2? That's right!
After Celebrity Jeopardy! season 1 had a good run in primetime in the early days of 2023, the format that sees big-name stars play the classic game show to win money for charities is back.
Jeopardy! has been expanding its offerings to fans of the long-time daily game show. In addition to Celebrity Jeopardy! (which was previously a special event and also a famous Saturday Night Live skit), Jeopardy! Masters was a blast for fans, as some of the best players in recent years went head-to-head over a multiple-week tournament, including James Holzhauer, Amy Schneider, Mattea Roach and more (Jeopardy! Masters 2024 has already been announced as happening).
So, which celebrities are going to test their knowledge on Jeopardy? Here's everything that we currently know about the new season of the game show.
When is the next Celebrity Jeopardy! season 2 episode?
The second semifinal game for Celebrity Jeopardy! season 2 takes place on Tuesday, January 9, at 8 pm ET/PT on ABC. This matchup is set to feature Steven Weber, Katie Nolan and Dule Hill.
Celebrity Jeopardy! season 2 host
Ken Jennings is the host for Celebrity Jeopardy! season 2.
This is a change from season 1 of the primetime special, when Mayim Bialik hosted. However, Bialik was replaced by Jennings for season 2 when she stepped away from hosting Jeopardy! in solidarity with the writers and actors strikes in 2023.

Celebrity Jeopardy! season 2 format
The basic game format is the same as your normal version of Jeopardy! Three players will compete, buzzing in to answer clues in the form of the question, trying to rack up the most money/points, with whoever has that at the end of the game being the winner. However, there are some tweaks to the format for Celebrity Jeopardy!
Instead of the traditional two rounds of Jeopardy and Double Jeopardy, Celebrity Jeopardy! has three rounds. The values are also different than traditional Jeopardy! rounds: in round 1 questions are worth 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 points; in round 2 those are doubled to 200, 400, 600, 800 and 1000; and in round 3 it rises to 300, 600, 900, 1200 and 1500.
When it comes to Daily Double questions, the first two rounds have the normal number of Daily Doubles associated with them (round 1 has one, round 2 has two), but there are then three daily doubles in round 3.
Final Jeopardy is the same as the normal game, with all contestants answering a question, wagering some amount of what they have earned over the previous two rounds.
The hour-long Celebrity Jeopardy! episodes consist of one game.
Again, presuming Celebrity Jeopardy! season 2 keeps the same format that it had for season 1, there will be three quarterfinal rounds, where nine contestants play games, with the three winners moving on to the semifinals. The winners of those three semifinal games will then move on to the Celebrity Jeopardy! finals.
