The latest series of Race Across the World may have only just finished but the BBC is already gearing up for another global adventure with a special new edition of Celebrity Race Across the World for 2024.

The show’s latest trek saw five couples embark on a nail-biting journey across East Asia, traversing over 15,000km without the use of smartphones or the internet. Instead, each pair had to rely on their wits and the generosity of strangers to make it across the finish line the fastest and win a £20,000 cash prize.

Shortly after crowning its youngest winners yet (no spoilers here), the BBC wasted no time in teasing a new celebrity edition — but who’s taking part and where are they off to?

2023’s edition debuted in late September and entertained viewers all the way up until late October. Perhaps we can expect this new series to follow the same release schedule.

Good news and bad news: there technically is a short teaser trailer for Celebrity Race Across The World 2024 but it’s not available to view online just yet.

The BBC aired the teaser directly after the credits rolled on series 4’s climactic final. In it, we received glimpses of some mystery celebrities each trying to navigate their way from somewhere to… somewhere else.

You guessed it. In addition to not having access to the show’s trailer, we also don’t know where our new batch of celebrities must travel to or where their starting point will be.

2023’s Celebrity Race Across The World sent its stars from Marrakech to Tromsø, Norway, via Morocco.

Snippets from the trailer saw pairs set against green and hilly backdrops but sadly, that doesn’t narrow it down too much. Until we get an official announcement, we’ll be left as stranded as one of the show’s contestants.

The full cast for Celebrity Race Across the World 2024 remains under wraps for now. However, that hasn’t stopped the internet from guessing which famous faces might be taking part.

After the teaser aired on BBC One, some people were sure they could recognise the voice of one of the people featured in it.

“OMG was that @scott_mills's voice I just heard in the Trailer for Celebrity Race Across The World?” pondered one user, suggesting the radio presenter Mills was set to make his Race Across the World debut.

2023’s edition featured four couples including presenter Alex Beresford and his dad Noel, singer Melanie Blatt and her mother Helene, musician Harry Judd and his mum Emma, and race driver and pundit Billy Monger and his sibling Bonny.

As for which celebs will appear in 2024’s edition? Hopefully, we’ll find out soon.
