Celebs Go Dating: Vanessa Feltz under fire from viewers after clash with experts

Vanessa Feltz has come under fire from Celebs Go Dating viewers who claims she was less than polite to the agency’s romance experts.

The This Morning regular, 61, is looking for love on the show after splitting from her long-term partner Ben Ofoedu.

However, so far things haven’t gone brilliantly, with one suitor saying their date was like "pulling teeth” and Feltz branded “rude” by fans for scrolling through her phone on their date and then leaving early.

Feltz has now claimed that one recent match was similar to her ex Ofoedu, and made her feelings clear to the show’s dating experts.

“This is an identikit of the relationship that I've just come out of,” she said.

“So this is a gentleman, charming, handsome, who is in a band. Who tours. That's the last thing I want is some itinerant, horny musician. I've had that."

It was suggested that the TV star was “closed off” and she admitted that she was but said she didn’t want to be “corrected” on it.

Expert Paul Carrick Brunson told her they were just there to dissect what they had heard, leading the presenter to respond: “Well it's not hard to dissect as I've explained it clearly to you. You should understand me the first time I say it, because I've said it with the utmost clarity."

As Brunson suggested the TV star was “coming” for him, fans were gripped by the drama.

But many were unimpressed with how Feltz handled it, with some saying they felt she was “rude”.

“She needs to be removed from the agency!” one posted.

“You don’t go for P dog!” said someone else.

Another viewer commented: “If she isn’t ready to date or isn’t attracted to her dates there is NO excuse to treat her dates the way she has been up to now.”

However, others criticised the show for matching the star with someone with a similar life to her former boyfriend.

“Come on!!!!” said one.

“Whether you like Vanessa or not, the experts were unfair to match her with someone so similar to her ex-partner!

“They dropped the ball there... no wonder she was triggered!” said another.

Feltz, 61, split from Ofoedu, who she'd been with since 2005, earlier this year and he later confessed that he’d had an affair eight years earlier.

She recently shared that she decided to do Celebs Go Dating because she was a “rotten picker” herself.

“Listen I have been, I think it's all public record, a rotten picker, I haven't been good at picking, I really haven't,” she said on This Morning.

"I just thought the agents… must be able to do better than I've done. I mean they couldn’t do worse, let's face it."
