Celtic to make under-18 and B team appointments as Adam Asghar and Jonny Hayes land roles

Former Motherwell coach Adam Asghar is set to be unveiled as the new manager of Celtic's under-18 squad, while former Hoops midfielder Jonny Hayes will land the job of assistant boss at Celtic's B-team in the Lowland League.

Asghar, who worked as a coach with Motherwell's under-16 and under-18 teams and also had a brief spell at Fir Park as a player, will bring a wealth of experience to the role having worked with academies in England, including Sunderland and Southampton.

The 29-year-old will replace Stuart McLaren after he departed last year.

Meanwhile, Lanarkshire Live Sport understands Jonny Hayes is set to be appointed the assistant manager to Darren O'Dea at the club's B team, meaning he will take on Lanarkshire sides East Kilbride, Albion Rovers and Caledonian Braves in the Lowland League next term.

Hayes hung up his boots at the end of the season at the age of 36 and turned down the chance to stay at Aberdeen to pursue his coaching career at Parkhead.
