MULTIPLE Cherries have been called up by their nations in preliminary and final squad announcements ahead of this summer’s Euro 2024.

Countries will be able to name 26-strong squads for this summer’s championship in Germany, with a host of AFC Bournemouth players named in bigger preliminary lists.

A regular for Scotland, Ryan Christie has been named in a 28-man squad for friendlies against Gibraltar and Finland, with two players set to be dropped by the deadline of Friday, June 7.

Scotland kick-off the tournament on Friday, June 14, facing hosts Germany at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena.

The Scot could come up against teammate Milos Kerkez, who has been named in Hungary’s team for the tournament.

Hungarian head coach Marco Rossi has decided not to go down the route of naming a preliminary squad and whitling down to a final 26; meaning Kerkez definitely knows he is off to his first major tournament next month.

Hungary’s warm-up games for the tournament include matches against the Republic of Ireland and Israel.

Similarly, there will be no agonising wait for Illia Zabaryni, after Ukraine named a straightforward 26-man list.

Unlike Kerkez, it will not be Zabarnyi’s first taste of a major tournament – the defender playing all five of Ukraine’s games at the 2020 edition of the Euros.

Striker Enes Unal will have to wait to find out if he is definitely off to Germany, with the Turkish international one of 35 players called up.

That means Turkey will have to cut nine players ahead of the tournament, although Unal is expected to make the cut.

One-time England internationals Dominic Solanke and Lewis Cook have not earned recalls; nor has Justin Kluivert for the Netherlands.

Departing loanee Andrei Radu’s lack of game time has not helped his international chances, with the goalkeeper omitted from Romania’s squad for the tournament.
