Child, 5, rushed to Glasgow hospital following crash involving police vehicle

A five-year-old child has been rushed to hospital following a two-vehicle crash involving a police vehicle earlier today (June 27).

Emergency services raced to the scene on Paisley Road West, in the south side of Glasgow, after receiving reports of the incident at around 12.30pm.

Ambulance crews took a 45-year-old man and a five-year-old to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital as a precaution after the collision.

An investigation into the incident is underway.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 12.30pm on Thursday, June 27, 2024, officers attended the Paisley Road West area of Glasgow following a two-car crash involving a police vehicle.

“A 45-year-old man and a 5-year-old child were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital as a precaution.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
