CIA reveals secret documents on training ‘psychic spies’ - including Uri Geller
This week, the CIA made millions of pages of highly secret documents freely available online – including details of a programme designed to train ‘psychic spies’.
The files detail experiments where celebrity psychic Uri Geller drew copies of pictures on a sheet of paper in another room, and seemed to convince his handlers.
One CIA worker assigned to the so-called Project Stargate said that Geller, ‘demonstrated his paranormal perceptual ability in a convincing and unambiguous manner,’ according to the documents.

Geller claims that the CIA still covertly uses psychic ‘remote viewers’ – and employed him for a long time, although this is not clear from the documents.
Project Stargate was discontinued in 1995.
The archive – consisting of 800,000 files – has been made available after repeated freedom of information requests.
Many were previously accessible, but only on four computers inside the National Archives in Maryland, located at the back of the library.
Geller said, ‘I am very surprised that they released such information – simply because my work continued for a long time with the CIA.
‘They studied me for months, the CIA at Stamford Research Institute, I was also tested at weapons centres in Maryland. They were very convinced after the experiments, that I had to go through under controlled conditions.’
‘There’s no way to cheat there, or to do magic. My powers are real.’
‘The CIA realised that what I did is real, they probably had a deal with Mossad to get me out of Israel. I worked for them for a long time.’
‘Many intelligence agencies around the world, such as MI6, they all are engaging remote viewers. Remote viewers have high intuition – they have very very powerful consciousness. They are being used by secret intelligence agencies to bring in secret information. And I started the remote viewing programme for the CIA. It is a very cheap way to get information – all you need are a few psychics who sit in a darkened room in front of a computer. They send their minds through space and time, and bring back information. They bring in valid information – which can be checked out. You cannot hide from remote viewers.’
