Coastguard and paramedics go to aid of woman who fell off sea wall

TWO coastguard rescue teams and an ambulance have been called to help a woman, who fell off a sea wall on the Isle of Wight.

Bembridge and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Teams were sent to assist the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, respond to a report of a woman having fallen from a wall at Sandown beach, this morning (Wednesday).

The alarm was raised with the coastguard at about 10.20am.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance confirmed that the air ambulance, carrying a doctor and specialist paramedic, was dispatched to an incident in Sandown at 10:38am.

Following treatment on scene, a patient was airlifted to hospital.
