Colin Farrell Joins Harry Potter Spin-Off

‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ has just landed another magical cast member in the form of Irish actor, Colin Farrell.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 39-year-old star has just signed up for the ‘Harry Potter’ spin-off… and he’s a welcome addition to the cast.

“Colin Farrell is ready to cast a spell,” they revealed. “The Irish actor has joined the cast of Warner Bros. Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which will star Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller and Alison Sudol.”

And we even have some idea who Colin Farrell will be playing.

“Farrell will play Graves, a wizard that Newt Scamander (Redmayne) meets in New York. The story centers on Newt’s adventures in the secret community of witches and wizards as he attempts to document magical creatures.”

As for how Graves will fit into the movie, well… that remains to be seen. Will he be on the side of good or evil? With a name like ‘Graves’ it seems all too obvious. But either way, it’s an interesting addition to an already stellar cast.

David Yates is already slated to direct the ‘Harry Potter’ spin-off, with J.K. Rowling having already written the script. David Heyman returns as producer, alongside Rowling herself, Steve Cloves and Lionel Wigram.

Unfortunately, further details remain a mystery. But with ‘Fantastic Beasts’ set to be the first in a line of ‘Harry Potter’ spin-offs, we’ve got plenty more to come.

‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ heads to cinemas on 18 November 2016.
