JASON FITZ: What to watch. Week two starts off with the surprise. Illinois in Kansas. I know, but Friday Night Lights. Illinois gave up a ton of points last week and yards to Toledo.

Now they've got to take on Kansas, where Lance Leipold has that team capable of scoring from anywhere, any time. Remember, the schedule lays out kind of favorable for Kansas over the next few weeks. They could with the win here get themselves to 4 and 0 heading into Texas, who they beat last year. Could Kansas become the early season darling this year just the way they were last year? It starts with a big win there.

Now, next up on the list. Number 10 Notre Dame taking on NC State. Look, Sam Hartman is the real deal, which I've been saying for months. And I was right. That means that this year's Notre Dame team is nothing like previous year's teams. We always want to talk about their playoff failures, but they haven't had a quarterback like this. At number 10 with big statement wins, Notre Dame is only going to continue to rise and so will Sam Hartman.

Speaking of rising. Number two Colorado makes their home debut against Nebraska, or should I say [? Nebatska ?] in this case. I don't think Nebraska is any good. And now, Colorado has the opportunity to show us, can Travis Hunter play on both sides of the ball again? Can [INAUDIBLE] Sanders repeat this performance? I think the answer is yes, which means the hype train is only going to continue to rise for Coach Prime and his squad.

And at the top of the list we all know what's coming. Number 11 Texas going in to take on number three Alabama. It was an incredible must-watch game last year. And now Quinn Ewers taking on Milroe. They're going to have their opportunities to make statements. So far it feels like not a lot of us are talking about Alabama in this year's rankings. This is an opportunity to get a huge statement win early on in the season for both teams.
