'Condemned' Nuneaton school building to be bulldozed
A 'condemned' building on a school site is set to be bulldozed. A planning application explained that what is known as 'T block' at Nuneaton Academy had 'fallen into disrepair'.
It said: "The building has been condemned and is no longer fit for use." Now a proposal has been submitted to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council to demolish it.
'T Block' is a single storey modular building which has six classrooms and entrance lobby. The application explained that once it has been removed, the area would be landscaped with grass and paved footpaths along with soft landscaping

It added the works were due to be held during the school summer holiday and should be completed by August 23, ahead of the start of the new academic year in September.
"Begin demolition from the roof and work downwards to ensure controlled collapse and debris management," the application explained. It also included a map which showed the lay-out of the school building and the location of 'T block'.
The demolition works will be paid for out of cash given by the Department for Education to United Learning, which now runs the Radnor Drive-based school.
The funding will also be used to pay for repairs to roofing and new windows and the replacement of some mechanical and electrical equipment across the site, as well as the demolition and ground reinstatement of 'T Block'.
Planners at Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council are now looking at the proposals, which can be found on the council's website by searching in the planning applications section for reference number 040309.
