Corner shop owner sets up CCTV after ‘gang of squirrels’ keep stealing chocolate bars
Here’s one you’re going to have trouble explaining to an insurance company – a Canadian shop owner claims he’s being targeted by a ‘gang’ of squirrels.
The beasts strike with the precision of an Ocean’s Eleven-style gang – scampering into the shop after checking the coast’s clear, then running off with the loot.

Paul Kim, owner of Luke’s Grocery, claims that he has been targeted at least 40 times, with the furry-tailed thieves showing a preference for Crunchie bars.
He’s now set up CCTV to show the world the threat he’s dealing with.
Kim told local station CBC, ‘‘At least two squirrels are robbing us. A black one (or more) and a light brown one (or more).’
‘Though we can’t see it the moment it commits the theft because the bars are displayed below the counter, we can hear a distinct rustling.
‘When we come around the counter to try to catch it, we can see the squirrel running off with the bar in its mouth.
