'I couldn't believe Steve Bruce fielded reserve team in Europe' - fans discuss Hull City boss' biggest regret

In a particularly candid moment, Steve Bruce revealed that his biggest regret during his eventful four-year spell at Hull City was the club's Europa League campaign which concluded in disappointment with a play-off stage defeat.

During his time at the helm of the East Yorkshire team, Bruce led the club to two Premier League promotions and an FA Cup final appearance. His reminiscent revelations came during a recent episode of the 1904 Club podcast.

ForeLeft chimed in with nostalgic eyes: "It’s great looking back and no I wasn’t part of the European travels but I was dragged by dad to the semi final of the Watney Cup in 1970 (I’ll leave that with the more senior supporters in the house). Time to look forward now with much positivity - this could be the beginning of a truly exciting era."
