Crowds in Dublin Wave to NYC Through Visual Portal

Crowds gathered in Dublin, Ireland, to catch a glimpse of New York City life through a visual portal on Wednesday, May 8, as part of a “groundbreaking” public art project.

Footage filmed by Laura Vasquez shows people peer into the art installation, which faces O’Connell Street, the city’s main street, late Wednesday afternoon.

The New York portal is located near the city’s iconic Flatiron building.

According to Ireland’s state broadcaster RTE, ‘The Portal’ art installation features a 24/7 visual livestream, allowing real-time interaction between Dubliners, New Yorkers, and visitors to both cities.
