A cruise ship carrying more than 1,000 passengers has called into Portland Port.

The MS Renaissance cruise ship arrived at the port today (Friday, May 10) at around 5.15am after travelling overnight from Portsmouth.

The 31-year-old vessel sails under the flag of Bermuda and is reported to be carrying around 1,100 passengers.

It will set sail at 6pm tonight for Guernsey before completing its journey to Le-Havre, France on Sunday, May 12.

She was first christened in 1993 by American stage, film and television actress June Allyson, who rose to fame in 1944 film, Two Girls and a Sailor.
