Cute ducklings have been giving a housebound Isle of Wight woman a "brilliant" start to her days, by visiting her almost every morning for breakfast.

For months, Anne Kendall, from Rookley, has had two ducks, presumed to be love birds, popping into her garden for a swim in her pond.

"He walks around holding her handbag while she eats first!", Anne joked.

For the past week, the mother duck has been joined by what is presumed to be her offspring.

"We have seven ducklings come in our garden", she said.

Anne, 44, who is housebound for health reasons, said the birds arrive each day at 9.30am, sharp.

They then stand outside the back door waiting for their breakfast.

She said: "We have a small pond and they spend all day swimming or sleeping in the sun.

"If we go into the garden they think there might be some more food up for grabs and rush towards us.

"It's costing us a fortune in bird seed but it's brilliant!"

Anne said sometimes the dad comes along to give the kids some swimming lessons.

She added: "It is absolutely brilliant to have wildlife on your doorstep."
