David Beckham sparks debate after allowing Harper, 6, to drive a golf buggy

The Beckhams have sparked an online parenting debate after dividing their fans by posting a video of six-year-old Harper ‘driving’ a golf buggy with dad David.

Proud Victoria shared the sweet black and white video clip, showing her and David’s daughter smiling with excitement as she sat on David’s knee to steer the vehicle.

Victoria captioned the image with: “Someone loves her daddy! #drivingmissharper kisses x @davidbeckham”.

However, it wasn’t long before the critics responded, with one writing: “Take that down before social services came to take your child for negligence and endangerment in US”.

Others added: “Not a very smart thing to do guys.”

“Very irresponsible, David, very.”

Fans quickly jumped to the Beckhams’ defence, writing: “WTH [what the hell]? They were driving a golf cart, for crying out loud. Not a car and it’s not dangerous at all.”

Others recalled fond memories of their own childhood, writing that they used to do the same with their dad.
