What did you miss?

Deal Or No Deal is back on our screens after seven years away - but Noel Edmonds has been replaced by Stephen Mulhern for the reboot.

So far, viewers are loving Mulhern as the new face of the classic gameshow, labelling him "perfect" for the job.

What, how, and why?

It's been seven long years since Deal Or No Deal last graced our daytime TV schedules, but on Monday it made its triumphant return with a reboot on ITV.

The gameshow hasn't just left Channel 4 behind - it's also made a comeback without its long-running host Noel Edmonds at the helm.

He has been replaced by ITV favourite Stephen Mulhern, and while he has big boots to fill, so far viewers are impressed with the new presenter.

And even king of TV gameshows Richard Osman backed him, writing on X: "Mulhern is great on the new #DealOrNoDeal. Perfect choice."

Commenting on X, one viewer wrote: "Loving Stephen Mulhern on #DealOrNoDeal - Noel is a tough act to follow but enjoying this reboot!"

Someone else agreed: "It’s still early days but I’m loving it so far and I think with @StephenMulhern as the host it’s going to be very successful and become another tv gold."

Another fan added: "wasn't sure how this would flow without the legend Noel. Luckily, I like @StephenMulhern."

Edmonds was the face of Deal Or No Deal from its launch in 2005 up until the last time it was on air in 2016 and was synonymous with the show for many.

But it seems Mulhern has won over many viewers who were delighted to see it back on TV.

One person commented: "Really enjoying #DealOrNoDeal - personally liked the “it’s up to you comment” super helpful there @StephenMulhern is perfect for this."

Someone else wrote: "As a huge fan of the previous era of #DealOrNoDeal on C4 with Noel Edmonds - Straight away @StephenMulhern has the right connections with contestants, the studio feels happy & as a viewer - the show is giving a great positive feel. It's fantastic to see DOND back on TV!"

Another viewer agreed: "How nice is it to have #DealOrNoDeal back on our tv !! And @StephenMulhern is just perfect !!"

However, some were still missing Edmonds as one person wrote: "Stephen Mulhern is decent but it now dawns on you how incredible Noel Edmonds was. The bloke was an amazing presenter."

What else has been happening for Stephen Mulhern?

It's looking like Mulhern has fully hit his hosting stride as he is rumoured to be a replacement for Phillip Schofield in the new series of Dancing On Ice.

Mulhern, 46, has previously hosted spin-off show Defrosted and told MailOnline he had "really enjoyed" covering for Schofield on the main show when he was off with Covid, adding that it had been "so lovely being back with Holly", saying that they "had a great time together".

He said of being the new Dancing On Ice host: "We are talking about it, but I promise you now that nothing is confirmed but if it happens, it will be absolutely amazing... if it doesn't, look, it doesn't. I promise you I would tell you if we had it confirmed at this point.

"The lineup is the best it has been in a few years... I am keeping across the lineup, just in case... It is a huge staple, and it has been around."

Deal Or No Deal airs on ITV at 4pm on weekdays.
