Denise Welch has dismissed concerns over Alison Hammond's rumoured relationship with a man 23 years her junior. Denise, who herself is in a relationship with a 14-year age gap with husband Lincoln Townley, didn't hold back when addressing the speculation surrounding This Morning presenter Alison's alleged new beau, a model and masseur over two decades younger than her.

Alison reportedly met the towering 6ft 10in Russian, David Putman, when she booked a £150 massage with him. Responding to critics who suggested it could "all end in tears", Denise retorted: "It could also work out brilliantly well and be the best thing that ever happened to her! ! ! ".

She praised her ITV colleague as "a fabulous woman" who "deserves everything". Her remarks, shared on Twitter, followed a source voicing their apprehension to the Daily Mail about the significant age difference.

"Obviously alarm bells go off when there's a 20-year age gap, whether that's when the man or woman is younger and there is someone involved who is rich. It is surely natural that there would be some concern," the source stated.

The Mirror reports that Alison is estimated to have a net worth of between £1 million and £4 million, leading a comfortable lifestyle. Despite this, Denise has made it clear she doesn't share these concerns, reports the Express.

After sharing her thoughts on Twitter, the presenter received a wave of support from fans with their own experiences of relationships with significant age differences. "Nobody's concern but hers - I wish her all the best, good for her. If a 30-year-old Russian gal showed interest in me, I'm not going to say no! " one fan expressed their support.

Another voiced their encouragement, saying: "I hope Alison is very happy. She seems like a really nice person despite what keeps coming up on social media."

The star has recently been at the centre of controversy following her appointment as the new host of For The Love Of Dogs, taking over from the late Paul O'Grady.

Some critics have questioned her suitability for the role, citing her lack of pet dogs and suggesting she may not share Paul's passion for animals.

Nevertheless, many have come to her defence, highlighting that the show plays an important role in promoting awareness for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, regardless of who presents it.
