Denise Welch says Meghan Markle has her 'very own Martha' as she slams 'biggest bully'

Loose Women panelist Denise Welch has defended Meghan Markle after the Duchess of Sussex came under fire during her latest public appearance. The 65-year-old ITV star likened Meghan's treatment by critics to that of the character Martha - an obsessive stalker in the Netflix series Baby Reindeer - suggesting that the duchess similarly has a troupe of relentless stalkers around the globe.

Meghan and Prince Harry beamed as they partook in a seated volleyball match during their tour of Nigeria on Sunday. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex charmed observers as they graciously accepted gifts at each stop of their fast-paced 72-hour visit.

Nevertheless, some royal experts, notably Angela Levin, have taken umbrage at their tour. Appearing on GB News at the weekend, Angela criticised Meghan's outfit choices during the trip and accused Harry of disrespecting his father by coming back to the UK for an Invictus Games event last week.

Commenting on the royal couple's appearances in Africa, Angela said to host Nana Akua: "I've been watching today, he and Meghan out in Africa, and I could barely believe my eyes," adding, "It's so phony and awful. You don't mind what clothes people wear but if you go to a school, a very quiet school that is a religious one, you don't go in a dress with low backing. I think that's really disrespectful."

On X, formerly Twitter, Denise shared a video clip of Angela which led her to label the latter as a bully: "This woman @angelalevin1 is a bully. Her sole job is to berate Harry and Meghan. Any channel that employs her is allowing and encouraging bullying."

One of Denise's followers, as reports the Mirror, compared Angela with Martha from Baby Reindeer, to which Denise emphatically agreed: "YES ! ! ! ".

Denise's critical views on Angela saw numerous Twitter users expressing agreement. One remarked: "Never seen a good looking career hater, they always look like their attitude."

Another commented: "I normally never propagate this foul channel and the clowns on it but this just can't be said enough so thanks to Denise for saying it. I pray for the downfall of all of these people and the entire channel."

Meghan and Harry were spotted in Abuja at Nigeria Unconquered, a local charity organisation, attending an exhibition match of sitting volleyball on Sunday. The visit aimed to support injured or sick service members and was part of the couple's 10th Invictus Games anniversary celebrations.

The invitation had been extended by Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, commemorating his meeting with Harry at the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany last September, following Meghan's heritage ties to Nigeria.

Meghan dazzled in a monochrome printed dress, while Harry cut a dapper figure in smart trousers and an Invictus Games polo shirt. The pair were all smiles as they walked hand-in-hand, with Meghan adding a touch of glamour with sunglasses and holding onto her dress's skirt.

Additional snaps captured Meghan interacting with onlookers, even stooping to converse with children who seemed utterly enchanted by the duchess. A heartwarming moment saw Meghan beaming as she admired a hand-drawn and painted picture gifted to her, kneeling elegantly amidst an appreciative crowd.

In another poignant moment from their tour's second day, Meghan was seen hugging a young child who presented her with red roses. Clearly touched by the child's gesture, the little girl looked overjoyed at giving flowers to the former actress.
